A beautiful boutique hotel in Bangkok in the Ratchathewi district, in a central location with good access to public transport. The rooms at Noursabah Boutique Bed are comfortable and will support you to wind down after your flight and are the perfect base to explore Bangkok. Rooms start at around €45 a night.
This hotel has all you need. It is located near the main sights and Khao San Road is only a 15-minute walk away. Furthermore, rooms are decent and there is a small swimming pool to cool down after your day exploring Bangkok. Furthermore, there is a shared room where you can play darts. Lastly, prices for a private room at Chern Bangkok start at €40 a night.
This hotel, located near the Riverside, has an exceptional rating of 9.4 on Booking, with over 1000 reviews. The rooms at Hansa Bangkok House are modern and beautiful and offer all you need during your stay. Personally, these types of accommodations are my personal favourite. Rooms start from €30 a night.
An amazing hostel that also offers private rooms. If you are looking for a social experience in Bangkok, the Yard is a perfect place to book a bed or a room. Also, the hostel is located a little further out, but close to public transport which will allow you to quickly travel through the city. A dorm bed starts at €12 a night, while a private room is €35.
A very social hostel located 700 meters away from Khao San Road. The dorm beds have curtains for privacy, however, there are also private rooms available. Here Hostel is a definite recommendation if you are open to meeting new friends with beds starting at €10.

If you are looking for a nice boutique hotel in Chiang Mai and are open to staying in the Nimman neighbourhood, the Samantan Hotel is a great option. The rooms are modern and the hotel is centrally located in Nimman. However, this might lead to slightly noisy rooms. You can book a room for €32 a night.
A beautiful hostel in the old town is Hostel One Art & Gallery. The staff is very friendly, the rooms and dorms are modern and the overall facilities are great. A bed in a dorm starts from €11, while you can stay in a private room starting €42.
A perfect option for couples is Chada Mantra Hotel, located in the old town. With decent rooms and a small swimming pool, this is the perfect hotel if you want to relax after your day exploring Chiang Mai. Rooms start around €35.
A great location, with pretty rooms and helpful staff. All the ingredients for a great stay in Chiang Mai, which you can have at Le Canal Boutique House. A twin room starts from €31.
When staying at the Somwang Boutique Hotel, you’ll also receive a great breakfast. Also, there is a pool available and therewith a more luxurious hotel option in Chiang Mai. Rooms are around €40 a night.

During my time at Pai, after changing my mind about accommodations a couple of times, I stayed at the Countryside Resort. And what an amazing place this is. I would highly recommend it to everyone. The rooms are small but decent, the location is perfect (a place to relax but only a 15-minute walk to town), you can rent a scooter, they have a pool and you have your own little terrace on your roof! Moreover, you can call them and they will pick you up from Pai bus station and drop you off when you leave. And.. all of this starts from €14 a night.
Before I stumbled upon Countryside Resort, I was planning on staying at Country Hut. The perfect location and spot to wind down, while still being able to explore Pai from your cottage. There are cottages available with shared or private bathrooms. You can get a cottage from €13 a night.
If you want to go all in with your accommodation, one of the best places to stay is the Pai Village Boutique Resort. Expectedly, this place is slightly more expensive than the average room in Thailand. Nevertheless, you can get a room starting at around €75 a night. There is a massage service at the property, as well as a restaurant and a pool. You can stay in cottages, to still experience the local feel of Pai.
First of all, accommodation in Pai is quite cheap and unique. A little cottage won’t set you back too far, especially not when shared. Nevertheless, you might enjoy a hostel better to be able to socialize. Society House Luxury Hostel is one of the best hostels in Pai and allows you to meet other travellers, while still enjoying some privacy in your hostel. During my stay in Khao Sok, I stayed at Tree Tops River Huts. Especially their riverside bungalows are a real treat as you are near the national park. At dawn, you see plenty of monkeys running around your bungalow. Also, they have a swimming pool and breakfast is included. The price of a bungalow starts at around €30 a night.
One of the best-rated accommodations in Khao Sok is the Khao Sok Palmview Resort. This is a charming and peaceful resort, with all the facilities you might need during your stay and very helpful staff. The price of a cottage starts from €17 a night.
If you have a little bit more to spend, the Malulee Khao Sok Resort is a great option. I especially have heard great stories on the tour that was booked through the Malulee Resort. There is an on-site swimming pool available and bungalows start from €70 a night.
If you are looking for a special experience that is slightly off the beaten track, then a night in Tanoshi Glamping is exactly what you are looking for. You will sleep in a glamping tent while having the opportunity to relax with great views and some tents also offer a luxury bath. A special experience you can get starting from €90 a night.
The most popular hostel for backpackers and budget travellers in Khao Sok is Coco Hostel. All rooms have a balcony and the beds have curtains for more privacy. Also, the bakery next to the hostel is great. A bed in a dorm room starts from €8.

Located near Grandfather and Grandmother Rock, you can find the beautiful hotel / resort The Rock Samui. The hotel is located right at the beach and has an outdoor swimming pool. Rooms start around €80.
If you are looking for a luxurious boutique hotel, look no further. Mantra Samui Resort is the perfect option for you. With beautiful rooms, all in a neutral and wood style, exceptional service, a gym and a pool, this resort has all you need. Rooms are already available starting at €82.
This beach-front location, Lipa Lodge, has bungalows surrounded by beautiful gardens and includes an outdoor pool. Located near Lipa Noi, it is the centre of tranquillity. Prices of a superior bungalow already start at €59 a night.
Located in the north of the Island, near Bangrak beach, you’ll find The Nest Samui. With an outdoor pool, shared kitchen and rooms with all the facilities you need, this is the perfect budget location to use as your base to explore the island. Rooms start at €41 a night.
The final accommodation on this list is New Hut Bungalow, a budget accommodation. Stay the night in a small beach bungalow (with a fan), with not many more facilities than a bed and a shared bathroom. However, you are staying right at the beach and you’ll only pay €13 a night for 2 people!

If you are looking to escape the buzz on Sairee Beach, with the opportunity to still head there for a couple of drinks, the AVA Resort is the place for you. Located slightly north of Sairee Beach, this resort offers beautiful rooms of which some have a sea view. Furthermore, there is a swimming pool available overlooking the sea. Rooms start at €65 a night.
Located 700 meters inland from Sairee Beach, Aiya Resort might not offer you direct sea views or beach access. However, there is a swimming pool and you are on walking distance from Sairee Beach. Rooms start at €33 a night.
During my time on Koh Tao, I stayed at Savage Hostel. The hostel offers 16, 12 or 6-person dorms that all have a curtain for privacy. Next to that, there is a pool at the rooftop. Moreover, they also offer private rooms, however I found those to be relatively pricy compared to other options on the island. Nevertheless, the dorm rooms are great if you want to meet people and the rooftop pool makes it a great place to stay. A night in a dorm will cost you around €16.
Before arriving in Koh Tao, I was severely doubting whether to change my accommodation to a private room. If I would have done so, I would have chosen Koh Tao Heritage. The rooms look neat, there is a swimming pool with sea view and you can walk to the key locations on Sairee Beach. Moreover, it is a relatively cheap resort taking the above in mind as rooms start from €29 a night.
This place is said to be one of the best hostels on the island. Even though The Dearly Koh Tao Hostel is a located towards the south end of the island and not on Sairee Beach, you can easily reach the busy area by moped. The hostel has an onsite bar and restaurant available and offers yoga-classes and free shuttles everyday to different beaches. A dorm bed starts at €15 a night.
If you want to opt for a special experience and luxury, The Fisherman’s Village Villas are the place to be. These self-service villas are located in the south of the island and guarantee you a relaxed experience. And yes, you do have a private pool. You can stay in one of these villas for around €175 a night. Most villas can accommodate 4-persons.
