In this accommodation guide, I have created an overview of some great hotels that will improve your stay. Also, curious about the best 12-day road trip itinerary? Let’s get started with the best places to stay in the Czech Republic.
Prague has plenty of great places to stay and your exact hotel choice is highly dependent on your travel style. Below, you can find my top 4 recommendations if you want to visit Prague, however, you can check out my full Prague Travel Guide for even more recommendations.
A stunning hotel where everything seems to be thought through. This would be one of my top recommendations. Rooms start at about €100 a night.
This aparthotel offers classy and stylish studios for a low price (rooms starting at €110). On top of that, private parking is offered, there is a bar, restaurant and terrace available as well as friendly staff.
If you are looking for budget accommodation in Prague with good value for money, the Ostas self-service hotel is the place to be. The hotel is located in Zizkov, about a 15-minute walk from the old town and a great area to stay. Furthermore, the rooms might be standard but are clean and decent.
Located in Mala Strana, on the ‘opposite side’ of the Charles Bridge, you can find this lovely hotel. Also, The interior is just wonderful. Next to hotel rooms, they also offer apartments.
Determining where to stay in Bohemian Paradise might be a bit less straightforward than in a city. The national park area covers quite some kilometres and with that, your first decision is to stay in Jicin (the main town) or more remote accommodation. As you are probably staying in quite a few cities, I would opt for a more remote place.
This guest house is amazing, with large rooms and an even larger property. On top of that, there is a pool to cool down and an incredibly nice host. Next to that, many locals will stop by for a drink in the bar. Lastly, rooms are cheap! You can book your stay already from €45. Book early, as they also book out quickly.
Even though Bohemian Paradise is great, not too many nice restaurants can be found. Our host advised us to visit Pod Sikmou for lunch or dinner. However, they also offer rooms for around €80 a night.
If you are seeking a place in Jicin offering more restaurants and bars to spend your time, hotel Restart is a good option. The hotel offers all the services you might need, including a lovely terrace and restaurant. Prices start from €115 a night.
Similarly to Bohemian Paradise, Bohemian Switzerland offers many locations that are spread out throughout the region. However, if you want to be close to the main sights and don’t spend too much time travelling, I would advise staying close to Hrensko.
This old glassworks building is the most unique place to stay when visiting Bohemian Switzerland. The hotel is centrally located in Hrensko and offers an outside terrace. However, the hotel will set you off slightly more than the average accommodation in the Czech Republic with rooms starting around €135 a night.
Na Stodolci is the place to go if you would like great food served in your hotel. Apparently, Na Stodolci is one of the best restaurants in Bohemian Switzerland and their breakfast is exceptional. Also, the rooms give you a great mountain lodge vibe. You can book a double room from €80 a night.
During our trip, we opted for the Trapani Glamping Camp as a nice change from hotel rooms during our Czech road trip. They offer cute glamping tents and serve breakfast in the morning. Next to that, it’s only a short drive away from Hrensko.
Cesky Krumlov might only be a small town where you can wander through in 30 minutes. Nevertheless, plenty of good hotels are situated due to the large number of tourists.
If you are looking for value for money in Cesky Krumlov, Pension Galko is the place to go. The rooms are slightly outdated, however, perfectly fine for a couple of days. Also, the price is very decent for the very central location. Also, there is a craft beer bar next door!
Another great mid-range option in Cesky Krumlov is Monastery Garden and Rooms, which is, unsurprisingly, located next to the Monastery. The rooms are beautiful with a botanic vibe, a definite recommendation. Furthermore, the price is pretty decent for the quality with rooms starting at €100 a night.
Looking for a cheaper option in Cesky Krumlov? Hostel Merlin is the place to go. With a lovely, small, terrace overlooking the river, the hostel has the perfect location. Furthermore, next to dorm rooms, you can also find cheap single and double rooms here. Bunk rooms are around €20, while you pay €28 for a single room.
In Czech’s spa capital, there are plenty of great accommodations to stay. Especially Grand Hotel Pupp is a special hotel as it was home to some scenes in James Bond! Curious to learn more about Karlovy Vary? Check out my full travel guide.
Grand Hotel Pupp is one of the most famous hotels in Karlovy Vary and is worth your money if you are looking for an exceptional hotel experience. Firstly, the rooms are amazing, but also the hotel facilities will surely match your needs. The prices for a room vary per date, with prices ranging from €150 to €250 a night.
During our stay in Karlovy Vary, we stayed in Hotel Palatin. A beautiful hotel in a central location where you feel the spa vibe because of the gold and white details. Normally not my vibe, but it perfectly matches Karlsbad. You can book your stay here for ~€100 a night.
There are also plenty of budget options available in Karlsbad. Similarly to Prague, OREA is one of the best budget options. Most importantly, you’ll stay in a decent room in a central location, with a breakfast option at a nearby hotel. Rooms start from as little as €60 a night.
Lastly, I’ll show you some great locations to stay in Brno. Also, the final recommendations of the best places to stay in the Czech Republic.
If you are looking for affordable luxury, Grandezza is a perfect option. Next to the beautiful rooms, the location is perfect as you are overlooking the main square. Next to that, there is a bar and restaurant available. Rooms can be booked for about €150 a night.
A great mid-range option in the city centre of Brno is Bed and Breakfast Placzek. For ~€100 a night, you will have a stunning location in town including a to-die for breakfast.
