Curacao is a stunning island, part of the Dutch Caribbean, where you will find the most beautiful white sand beaches and the bright colour of ocean blue. Spread over the island, every beach has its characteristics. Although I’m generally more of a “pool” kind of girl, Curacao swayed me! During the 8 days spent on the island, I was fortunate to visit the multiple beaches the island has to offer. These are the best beaches in Curacao!
Cas Abao is the best beach in Curacao to many! The beach is located on the south side of the island in the middle between Willemstad and the complete west. There is an entree fee applicable. You will pay 10 NAF per car to access the beach and if you would like to rent a sun bed, this will cost you 5 NAF.
Next to Cas Abao, Playa Porto Mari might have been my favourite beach. The colourful cushions on the stretchers were already a highlight for me :). The entrance to the beach is 5 NAF per person and you can rent a sun bed for 6 NAF. Playa Porto Mari is known for the little pigs you often find bathing around the parking lot or on the beach. Playa Porto Mari is located close to Cas Abao and has food facilities. Furthermore, there is a nice watch tower that gives you a nice view of the beach!
Daaibooi Beach in Curacao is a secluded and picturesque beach on the western coast of the island. With its crystal-clear turquoise waters, vibrant coral reefs, and lush vegetation, it’s a popular destination for sunbathers and snorkelers. The entrance fee is 10 NAF (approximately 6 USD) per car.
Cuba, a very authentic island with loads of history. A perfect holiday destination if you want to combine culture with stunning beaches.
Grote Knip and Kleine Knip are two of the most beautiful and popular beaches in Curacao, located on the northwestern coast of the island. A visit to Grote and Kleine Knip can be perfectly combined with climbing the Christoffel Berg or visiting Shete Boka national park. The two beaches are adjacent to each other, and Grote Knip is the larger of the two. Parking costs 10 NAF per car.
Mambo Beach is a more vibrant and bustling beach in Curacao. In the evening, there are several beach bars and clubs to be found and during the day, this is a perfect beach if you would like to go for lunch at one of the many beach restaurants. In general, this beach is slightly more touristic than the previous 4 beaches mentioned.
Jan Thiel Beach is a stunning beach located on the southeastern coast of the island. You can enjoy a variety of restaurants and bars when visiting Jan Thiel. There are quite some resorts located near the beach.
Kokomo Beach is a smaller beach on the western coast of Curacao and used to be famous for its swing. Unfortunately, the swing is not there anymore! You can rent a sun bed for 7.50 NAF. You can’t bring your own food and drinks, but you can order at the restaurant/bar next to the beach. Personally, out of the beaches, Kokomo Beach was my least favourite.
When visiting Curacao, you can also book a day trip to Klein Curacao and enjoy the beaches there. You can book a day trip to the small island with Get your Guide.
