Therefore, I felt that when in Guatemala, we spent more time at our accommodation than I usually would. Choosing the right place to stay enhances your travel experience! The beautiful Maya Papaya offers a vibrant and cosy atmosphere, with a lovely garden area and amazing breakfast. The location of the hostel/hotel is also great! You can enjoy comfortable rooms and a shared kitchen, and some social activities are organised. A perfect budget-friendly option! You can find a room starting at €45 a night.

Looking for an experience? At Mountain Nest you can stay in a hut with the most lovely views. Next to that, the host is great! The place is located slightly out of Lanquin and at 25 km of Semuc Champey. You can book your mountain nest from €100.
An amazing and budget place to stay in Flores is Casa Maya Itza and it is also the place we have stayed during our visit. The rooms (€40) have airconditioning and you can use their kitchenette. Also, they can support you in booking tours.
If you seek a social stay, Los Amigos Hostel is the place to be in Flores. They have bunk beds and private rooms available and many social activities are organized. Private rooms start at €55 a night.
Looking for a more luxurious stay? Isla de Flores is a great option. First of all, rooms are modern, the restaurant / bar looks amazing and.. a swimming pool! Rooms costs around €120.
Do you want to get the most out of Tikal? Tikal Inn is located near the entrance of the park to fully explore the old Mayan Ruins. Next to that, rooms are comfortable and there is a swimming pool available. Rooms are available for €80 a night.
Jungle Lodge Tikal Hostal is one of the top choices within the park and a stay allows you to enjoy Tikal to the fullest. The lodges are based in the jungle and a swimming pool and restaurant are available on the property. Rooms start at €80.

Another beautiful location at the waterfront, located near Hotelito Perdido, is Palmeros del Rio. There is a lush garden, places to chill around the water and an on-site restaurant. Rooms start from €25 a night.
If you want to save yourself a long boat ride from Rio Dulce towards Livingston, Tortugal Boutique River Lodge is the perfect place to stay. It offers a great communal stay and the suites are beautiful. You can book one from €80.
