When planning a trip, I always tend to search for lists with the most amazing things to do and unmissable locations. Of course, Prague as the capital of the Czech Republic, is worth a visit anyway. Nevertheless, a visit to these 2 bars made a lasting impression on my visit to Prague. Firstly, U Zlateho Tyrga is a unique beer bar, with regulars drinking their beers at the bar for over 20 years. Next to that, we enjoyed our evening at Bokvoka, especially with a lovely sandwich from the butcher around the corner.

As you might know, the Czech Republic is home to many beautiful castles. After a 30 to 40-minute drive from Prague, you’ll arrive at the parking lot in Karlstejn. Subsequently, you can start the 2-kilometre walk up to the castle and enjoy the stunning exterior.

Close to Hrad Karlstejn and Prague, you can find the stunning Velka Amerika. Especially when renting a car in Prague, Velka Amerika is worth a short stop-over. In around 1 hour you can walk around the water in the stone quarry.
A visit to the Moravia region might be one of the most underrated things to do in the Czech Republic. Before a trip, I always tend to do quite some research to plan my holiday carefully. However, Moravia never showed up. Fortunately, we drove through Moravia on our way from Cesky to Brno and could sip some great wines from the most stunning locations (Sonberk was my favourite!).

Another castle that you can’t miss out on when visiting the Czech Republic is Hluboka Castle. Its style is completely different from Hrad Karlstejn, hence I would recommend visiting both of them as the top 2 castles in the Czech Republic.
This beautiful and picturesque town is one of the main sights of the Czech Republic and has been drawing many visitors to the country after publications in travel magazines and books. On top of its beauty, plenty of great cafes, bars and restaurants can be found. Therefore, I would recommend staying 2 nights, despite its small size.

As mentioned in my full Karlovy Vary guide, the city wasn’t my favourite place in the Czech Republic. Nevertheless, I would recommend a visit while travelling through the Czech Republic, specifically to taste the healing hot spring water. Though, don’t expect to find the water tasty.

Grand Hotel Pupp (€200), Hotel Palatin (€100), OREA Place Karlsbad (€60)
When visiting Brno, I was specifically impressed by the lovely vibe. Firstly, there are plenty of terraces to be found throughout town. However, what I liked best were all the beach chairs on the cabbage market where you can sit down and relax. On top of that, you can find several bars and beer stands to get a drink.

Grandezza Hotel Luxury Palace (€135), Bed and Breakfast Placzek (€100), Boutique Expo Apartments #5 – Brno Living CZ (€50)
I never expected that one of the top 10 things to do in the Czech Republic would be to visit a cocktail bar. However, my visit to Super Panda Circus in Brno made a lasting impression because of the great storyline and creativity.
Last but not least, you definitely can’t miss out on hiking around the Parchov Rocks in Bohemian Paradise. This natural rock formation is impressive! You can combine the Parchov Rocks with other destinations in Bohemian Paradise or Bohemian Switzerland.

U Zlate Brany Cesky Raj (my recommendation, rooms starting from €45), Pod Sikmou, Hotel Brada (€95).
