Monopoli was another stop during our 10-day Puglia itinerary. We drove there in the morning to explore the city, walk around and enjoy some lunch before continuing to our Masseria (Masseria Montenapoleone). In total, this didn’t leave much time for exploring and I also have to admit that while the town is very pretty, I don’t regret not staying in Monopoli for the night. I did enjoy shooting some pictures there though and why not share them to give a first impression of this cute town? Monopoli is a picturesque seaside town where you will see the fisherman in the harbour, beautiful small cathedrals, little alleys, white houses, great food, a cute little square and last, but not least, the famous view capturing the water including an outlook on the city. A perfect small stop to add to your road trip through Puglia, Italy.
Also, don’t forget to enjoy some of the typical Puglian sweets in the bakeries in town. The one pictured above was great. We enjoyed delicious focaccia on a bench on the square instead of eating out, which was just as good.
