The heel of Italy is a location in Italy that should be on your bucket list. Puglia is a beautiful area (don’t forget to also combine it with Matera) and offers many picturesque cities and villages. These 15 pictures of Puglia display my personal favourites from the trip and give a good, visual impression, of what to expect when visiting Puglia. To make these pictures, I have mainly used my 15 – 50 mm camera lens, while on some occasions I have also used the telelens of 50 – 200 mm. However, I have to admit that I can still use some practice on when to best use the zoom lens! Nevertheless, I always love looking back at the pictures I have shot as they bring back so many memories of the great locations and cities visited.
I was a big fan of Lecce, not just because the city itself is stunning, but they also offer many bars and restaurants and it is the perfect base to explore the south of Puglia. Of course, the Valle d’Itria with villages such as Alberobello (known for the trellis) and Locorotondo can’t be missed when visiting Puglia. Also don’t miss out on Ostuni, the “white city” and Polignano a Mare, with the pretty cliffs. Or, stay in a Masseria, they are picture perfect themselves!
After having lived in Lisbon for 3 months, I had my favorite locations for making the best photos. Check out my Instagram guide to Lisbon!
